Description

Possibly 17th century. Ruinous remains of roofless, rectangular-plan building. 2-storey in places. Sandstone rubble. Advanced to SW with central window. Advanced circular stair tower to right; roll and hollow moulded door in right return; blocked window to right. Remains of flue in E inner wall with niche to right. E section built on higher ground.

Statement of Interest

B-Group with Balgownie House and Boundary Walls. Formerly listed as Old Building in Garden of Balgownie House (Inchkeith Private School). The original function of this building is uncertain, it was possibly a house and/or a forge.
