Description

Early 19th century, segmental masonry arch of over 50' span with alternately raised voussoirs and spear-head railings at parapet. Interesting widening of circa 1850 on downstream side, skew iron rib arch with open-grid spandrels cast in 3 pieces, flush on outer face: roadway carried on white brick jack arches on cast-iron beams spanning the triangular area between the original arch and the iron rib arch.

Statement of Interest

Of particular interest for the unusual method of widening.
