Description

Later 19th century. 3-storey, 4-bay terraced tenement with shops at ground. W elevation squared and snecked sandstone rubble; stugged ashlar dressings. Stop-chamfered lintels to all margins to W. Base course. Band course, now with shop signs.

W (HIGH STREET) ELEVATION: door (no 194) between bays at centre. Door (No 192, entrance to tenement) in bay to right of centre and door (No 190) between 2 bays to right, both with 2-pane fanlights. Regularly disposed fenestration; taller windows at 1st floor, smaller at 2nd floor.

E ELEVATION: 4 irregularly disposed windows. Modern flat-roofed addition to right.

N ELEVATION: adjoined to Nos 196 and 198 High Street (see separate listing).

S ELEVATION: adjoined to Nos 186 and 188 High Street (see separate lisiting).

Sash and case windows with variety of glazing patterns, plate glass shop windows. Grey slates. Sawtooth coped skews and skewputts.
