Description

1791, addition John Hay, Maryburgh, 1825-27, alterations and
repairs, Alexander Messer, 1854, further repairs, Ross and
Joass, 1861. 2-storey 3-bay dwelling, with gabled centre
bay facing street (north) and large projecting 2-storey wing to
rear (south, garden front). All rubble, painted ashlar margins.
Centre door masked by later projecting gabled porch,
attenuated scroll skewputts to gablet above, apex stack.
2 piended dormers to south; 2-pane glazing; corniced end
stacks; slate roof. Later 19th century cast-iron pedestrian
gate and gate piers with wrought-iron over-throw and original
lamp bracket and lamp; matching railings on low coped retaining
wall.
