Description

Watson and Salmond. Built in 2 stages 1902 and 1906. Mansion
of 1 and 2 storeys with cellar and attic. Irregular plan.
Rubble ground storey, plastered above with ashlar dressings
Entrance in north east re-entrant angle through canted gabled
2 storey porch. Asymmetrically placed casement windows of 2,
3 and 4 lights. Canted 2 storey bay to east with battered
ground storey and angle buttresses. South elevation with 2
projecting bays, 1 square, 1 canted linked by loggia with
central door. Ashlar cove over square bay with 2 set-back
gables above with contrasting windows to attic; the date 1902
over east window. Large 2 storey canted bay of 1907 at north
of northern wing, with bell-cast roof. All stacks have
diamond flues. Later red tiled roof.
