Description

Charles and Leslie Ower 1895. 2-storey and attic detached villa stugged ashlar with chamfered segment-headed openings.

3-bay front advanced ends with canted bays through both floors, centre 3-bay verandah supported by slim turned columns with brackets and screen work below eaves; piended slated roof with brattishing. 3-windos W elevation with square single storey porch, Doric pilastered, glazed timber screens with triangular pedimented doorpiece. Piended platformed roof with brattishing. Main slate roof, piended and platformed with decorative cast-iron parapet and wrought-iron finial, enclosing octagonal ogee-roofed glazed cupola (shipowner's look-out). Modern dormer extensions to each side. Segmentally pedimented central tripartite dormer S front. Sash and case windows, 2-pane glazing pattern. Modern glazing to dormers. Slate roofs, fishscale at cupola and verandah, terracotta ridges. Tall corniced stacks.

Good long hall with screen of Corinthian columns internally.

Octagonal gatepiers with rope mouldings and name panels. Low garden walls.
