Late 18th century. 4-storey, 5-bay tenement building with shops to ground floor. Rendered rubble, grey slate roof. Cill band to 2nd and 3rd floor; margined windows, 2-pane timber sash and case frames. Ashlar-coped skews; cut-down ridge stack to W, brick ridge stack to E, coped and shouldered wallhead stack to centre right front elevation.
FRONT ELEVATION: close entry to centre right flanked by modern shopfronts, 5 windows to 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors arranged 3-2.
REAR ELEVATION: early 19th century long and narrow 2-storey wing to New Inn Entry.
INTERIOR: not seen. Said to contain good timber panelling and plasterwork on at least top floor of front block and an elaborate plaster ceiling running length of New Inn Entry block, probably used as billiard rooms.
The building is a near mirror-image of 68, 69 High Street. Part of an A group with 68, 69 High Street, 70-73 High Street and Gardyne's Land, and 74, 75, 76 High Street.
