Dated 1912. Hemispherical metal sundial set on column comprised of 3-tier, stepped 10-sided cream ashlar base, pentagonal red ashlar shaft with moulded angles and large red ashlar dodecahedron.
The sundial is inscribed 'British Association 1912', commemorating the meeting in Dundee that year of the British Association for the Advancement of Science.
