Description

J Young and A M Meldrum, 1871 4-storey Scots Baronial
tenement on prominent gusset site, coursed rubble with
ashlar dressings.
Elevation to Milnbank Road Nos 5-9 4-bay with 3 doors
and segmental headed 1st floor windows. Bays above
door false arrow loops at 1st and 3rd floors and
oculi in lozenges at 2nd floor.
Eaves line stepped-up at 4-bay section over pub
(ground floor altered). Slate roof with 3 rubble
ridge stacks. Corner bay: hoodmould over blocked
ground floor door. 1st and 2nd floor curved bow windows,
corbelled to rectangle at 3rd floor level with steep
crow stepped gable, small window and wrought-iron finial.
Elevation to Pole Park Road 8-bay, details similar to
Milnbank Road with Alterations at ground-floor. 2 arrow-
loops and oculus in lozenge between 6th- and 7th bays.
Slate roof and 2 ridge stacks.
All domestic windows chamfered reveals, sash and case,
8-pane glazing pattern.
Rear harled and modernised.

Statement of Interest

Wall-head stacks with arrow-loops to either side of

corner bay have been removed; Modern plastic guttering.

Ashlar dressings have been painted black.
