Description

Earlier 19th century. 4-storey and attic. 8-bay tenemental building with shops to ground floor, on corner site. Sandstone coursers, grey slate roof, piended at Yeaman Shore elevation. Corniced ground floor, eaves course; concrete architraved windows to 1st and 2nd floor, margined to 3rd, box and canted dormers, modern 2-pane glazing to 1st floor, some original 12-pane timber sash and case glazing and modern out-of-character frames to 2nd and 3rd floor; corniced ridge stacks and corniced and shouldered wallhead stacks.

UNION STREET ELEVATION: 2 close doors flanked by pilastered (altered) shopfronts, 8 windows to each upper floor, 1 box and 2 canted dormers, 2 wallhead stacks.

YEAMAN SHORE ELEVATION: pilastered public house to ground floor (restored to sympathetic style), 4 windows to each upper floor (blocked at 2nd bay from left at 1st floor and 2nd bay from right at 2nd and 3rd floor), cut-down wallhead stack.

INTERIOR: not seen.
