Probably early 19th century, substandtially altered at ground. 2-storey and attic; 4-bay terraced block with modern shopfronts to ground floor; large early 20th century pedimented window aedicule to 1st floor of No 7. Glazed and tiled to ground floor; painted ashlar to 1st floor; aedicule of timber.
N (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: 2 windows to 1st floor of No 9; piended dormer above to right. Large 1st floor aediculed window across both bays to No 7; 2-pane plate glass central opening with flanking composite Corinthian pilasters and narrow outer lights terminating in composite Corinthian pilasters; panelled aprons below; entablature with mutuled cornice above; mutuled pediment to centre. Flat-roofed 4-light dormer above.
12-pane timber sash and case windows to 1st floor of No 9. 2 and 4-pane timber windows elsewhere (apart from ground floor shopfronts). Grey slate roofs. Brick end stack to E.
INTERIOR: not inspected (1998).
The primary interest of this much altered building lies in the fine frontage at the 1st floor.
