Late 18th century. 2-storey, 3-bay, rectangular-plan, gabled house. Harled, squared rubble with yellow ashlar sandstone margins. Chamfered margins to openings, projecting cills to windows.
S (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: door to centre right, large window to left, 2 small windows to 1st floor above door. N (REAR) ELEVATION: door to centre, windows to left. E (SIDE) ELEVATION: single, small window to centre of 1st floor. W (RIVER) ELEVATION: 2 large windows to ground floor, 2 small windows to 1st floor.
12-pane, timber framed, sash and case windows. Grey slates, lead flashing. Cast-iron rainwater goods.
INTERIOR: not seen 2001.
BOUNDARY WALL: low, coped, rubble wall enclosing house and gardens, gates to W and N, pyramidal capped piers.
A good and well-preserved example of 18th cnetury Scottish burgh architecture, traditional and substantial.
