Description

Early 19th century incorporating earlier fabric. 2-storey and attic

7-bay pair of houses with unified shopfront of 3 3-bay shops at ground. Chanelled ashlar shopfronts at ground with single cornice; dry-dash at 1st floor; harled to sides and rear. Shops with panelled and glazed doors and plate glass letterbox fanlights, flanked by large plate glass shop windows. Piend-roofed timber dormers.

N (SOUTH STREET) ELEVATION: broad left bay with shop at ground, window at 1st floor and dormer. 6 bays to right with 2 shops at ground flanking flush-panelled door with decorative multi-pane fanlight (to flat, No 5); windows to all bays at 1st floor; pair of dormers.

S (REAR) ELEVATION: 3 bays at swept angle to right; flush-panelled door with plate glass letterbox fanlight at centre, with narrow window immediately to left and window at 1st floor (lighting stair); small windows to right; blank to left. 4 irregular bays to left; tall stair window to 3rd bay from right; 2 dormers, left one canted.

Blank gable ends.

12-pane timber sash and case windows; 4-pane to dormers. Grey slates; ashlar coped skews; scroll skewputts to rear; brick apex stacks, rendered to E.

INTERIOR: not seen 1993.

Statement of Interest

The entrance to Blinkbonnie Wynd is to the E. An adjoining building has been removed to the W.
