Description

Early-mid 19th century. 2-storey, 2-bay house with
attic, and workshops. Squared and snecked whinstone
rubble, rubble sides and rear; grey ashlar dressings.
Entrance to 1st floor from Bridge End; large pilastered
doorpiece with cornice. Windows flanking, windows to
ground floor below. Piend-roofed, slate-hung, canted
dormers to attic in outer bays.
7-bay piend-roofed offices slightly advanced and adjoining
at right; 2 doorways at 1st floor to street in 2nd and
6th bays with strip fanlights. Windows to outer and
3 centre bays. Victorian post box in wall at centre.
House fronting builders yard at rear; large doorway at
ground, irregular window openings to each floor and
2 dormers to attic as front.
Modern brick extension to offices with 2 garage openings
at ground, 3 windows above. Iron forestair to offices
behind. 1 window to E gable at 1st floor, further
modern workshops addition adjoining at ground at E.
Predominantly 8-pane glazing pattern to sash and case
windows; lying-pane glazing to offices.
Grey slates, straight skews, ashlar stacks with cornice.
Some skylights.
Wrought and cast-iron railings to street.
