Description

18th century cottage, raised in mid 19th century to
2-storey, 3-bay house set at angle to Bridge Street.
Squared and snecked whinstone rubble, harl pointed at
ground; sandstone dressings and painted margins and
quoins to ground floor, stugged ashlar dressings with
raised margins and quoins to 1st floor. Ashlar band
course, eaves course and cornice. Rubble sides and
rear. Door to centre with margined 2-pane strip
fanlight. Windows flanking; 3 windows at 1st floor.
Piended roof, grey slates. Ashlar shouldered wallhead stacks
with cornice to blank end walls.
Rubble and ashlar coped retaining wall.

Statement of Interest

Masonry change in side walls clear evidence of raising.
