Description

Earlier 19th century. 3-storey flatted former villa on corner site. Main elevations of stugged cream sandstone with ashlar dressings; base course; band courses between floors; cornice and blocking course. Regular fenestration; raised architraves to ground and 1st floors; aprons to 1st floor windows.

E (BONNINGTON TERRACE) ELEVATION: 3-bay; panelled door at centre with rectangular fanlight; moulded architrave and consoled cornice. Left bay with canted full-height window.

N (FERRY ROAD) ELEVATION: 3 main bays; left bay with blind windows above ground. Set back lower bay to right; flat-panelled door to former rear entrance with bracketed pentice slabe canopy and windows above; no cornice.

W ELEVATION: lower, 3-bay; snecked dressed rubble with stair windows to left.

S ELEVATION: snecked dressed rubble; irregular fenestration.

Timber sash and case 12-lying-pane windows; plate glass to 2nd floor. Grey slates; piend roof; coped ashlar wallhead stacks.

BOUNDARY WALLS AND RAILINGS: dressed rubble with ashlar coping; coped ashlar gatepiers to Bonnington Terrace.

Blockish villa which may have been intended to be extended to S as terrace.
