Description

Circa 1725. Ashlar. Swept entrance comprised of 2 main gatepiers with terminal outer piers and simple cast-iron quadrant railings. Blocky, rectangular-plan piers with solid base with recessed panels, Greek key string course with moulded swags and patera in frieze surmounted by a heavily moulded cap. Terminal piers lower with similar base of droved ashlar and recessed panels, Greek key frieze and pyramidal cap. 2-leaf iron gate detailed as railings.

Statement of Interest

This East entrance is no longer used and the house is accessed via the N entrance. Dalmahoy House and Dalmahoy North entrance gates are listed separately.
