Description

Mid 19th century. 2-storey and attic 10-bay terrace of flatted dwellings built in 3 distinct blocks; ground falls to E. Droved cream sandstone ashlar. Base course; band course dividing floors; cornice and blocking course; raised panel to blocking course at centre of each block. Regular fenestration; doors with rectangular fanlights and moulded architraves.

E BLOCK (NOS 1-2): 4-bay; deep-set panelled doors to 1st and 3rd bays from right, margin-glazed fanlights. Blind window to right bay at 1st floor. Rooflights.

E elevation recessing in 2 stages.

CENTRAL BLOCK (NOS 3-4): 3-bay; doors at centre and between centre and right bays; centre panelled door with 4-oval-pane fanlight. Pair of modern box dormers.

W BLOCK (NO 5): 3-bay; deep-set door at centre. Pair of modern box-dormers.

Timber plate glass sash and case windows (several modern windows). Grey slates; ashlar stacks (some rendered); ashlar coped stacks and skews.

WALLS AND RAILINGS: low rubble walls to front with saddleback ashlar coping; modern iron railings and gates (original fleur-de-lys railings to W return only).
