Description

Circa 1835 and circa 1860. Mirrored pair of 2-storey and attic on raised basement 3-bay terraced houses. Cream ashlar sandstone (No 41 painted) with polished dressings; band course above basement; cill course to 1st floor; cornice and blocking course. Moulded architraves at ground. Regular fenestration.

Deep-set panelled doors with rectangular fanlights in corniced doorways in outer bays. Single window to basements. No 43 with pair of piend-roofed canted dormers (skylights to No 41).

Timber sash and case windows; 4-pane to No 41, plate glass to No 43. Grey slates; coped ashlar stacks; ashlar coped skews.

WALLS, STEPS AND RAILINGS: low rubble front and dividing walls with saddleback ashlar coping; cast-iron railings, with fleur-de-lys heads to steps and basement area.
