Description

Hugh Baird, engineer. Circa 1820. Segmental-arch, single span bridge. Coursed, squared rubble with stugged sandstone voussoirs; exposed keystone with '13' inscribed. Ashlar string course; plain railings over bridge proper, coped parapet wall over banks.

Statement of Interest

The Edinburgh and Glasgow Union Canal was built 1818-22 and was designed by Hugh Baird, engineer.
