Thomas Campbell, 1837. Bronze pedestrian statue of Frederick, Duke of York and Albany, KG, in tasselled cape and short breeches, holding his marshal's baton, on tall bronze corniced pedestal with torus band, heraldic designs and raised inscriptions.

Statement of Interest

The A group comprises the Esplanade itself and the group of monuments including the Statue of the Duke of York, the Scottish Horse Memorial, the 72nd Highlanders Memorial, the 78th Highlanders Memorial, the Monument to Colonel MacKenzie and the Statue of Earl Haig (all separately listed). Inscription reads 'Field Marshal His Royal Highness Frederick Duke of York and Albany KG Commander of the British Army.'
