Statement of Interest

Nos 9-15 Blair Street is a good well-proportional example of an 18th century Edinburgh tenement. Notable for its elegant wall-head gable and partly arcaded ground floor, its principal elevation remains substantially unaltered, contributing significantly to the historic integrity of the surrounding streetscape.

Blair Street, sloping steeply from Hunter Square on the High Street down to the Cowgate, was created as part of the South-Bridge/Hunter Square Improvements of 1785-8.

List description revised as part of Edinburgh Holyrood Ward resurvey, 2007/08.
