Statement of Interest

For a possible detating sylvan house see M Cant. Kirkwood's 1817 Map of Edinburgh shows an additional wing to the west, forming an L-plan. This was demolished in 1885 to make way for tenements on Sylvan Place.

Sylvan House was sympathetically restored in 1983, when 20th century cement rendering was removed and replaced with lime harl.
