Description

Circa 1882. 4-storey, 4-bay Jacobean style tenement, forming part of terrace. Squared and snecked bull-faced sandstone with polished ashlar dressings; stone-cleaned. Base course; corbel table stepped down to centre; chamfered reveals; outer bays corniced above ground and 2nd floors.

E ENTRANCE elevation: corniced and roll-moulded doorway to centre with carved strapwork pediment; panelled door; plate glass fanlight; carved surround to heraldic panel at 2nd floor; blank heraldic at eaves. Single windows in flanking bays, those at 3rd floor breaking eaves and corniced, with linking crowstepped gable above; decorative cast-iron window guard at 1st floor to left. Full-height advanced bipartite window to outer left; breaking eaves in stone finialled gable; blank heraldic panel set in gablehead. Full-height canted window to outer right, breaking eaves in cornice and Jacobean style pediment. Plate glass sash and case windows. Grey slate roof; corbelled and corniced gablehead stack; coped mutual stacks; scrolled skewputts.

INTERIORS: not seen 1991.
