Description

William Hogg, 1886. 4-storey, 5-bay Scottish 17th century style tenement, forming part of terrace. Squared and snecked sandstone with contrasting polished ashlar dressings. Base course; corbel table at 3rd floor stepped down to 2nd floor, forming segmental-arched hoods between bays; chamfered reveals; deep-set panelled doors; plate glass fanlights. E ENTRANCE elevation: central doorway single windows above; finialled semi-circular dormerhead to 3rd floor window. Roll-moulded with single window flanking to right in 2nd bay; semi-circular dormerhead to 3rd floor window. Roll-moulded doorway with single window flanking to left in 4th bay; crowstepped dormerhead to 3rd floor window. Full-height canted windows in bays to outer left and right, corbelled to square at crowstepped gables; arrow slits in gableheads. Plate glass sash and case windows. Grey slate roof; corniced wallhead stack; coped mutual stack. INTERIORS: not seen 1991.
