Circa 1810. 2-storey, 3-bay house with centre door
approached by flight of steps oversailing raised
basement. Harled, painted margins. Band course; bowed bay
to W with 16-pane sash window; blind window to basement.
12-pane sashes to front windows with blind boxes. Deep
tooled ashlar eaves; piended slate roof. Various two storey
wings to rear.
Outbuilding with pigeon loft and flight holes.
Alexander Johnston established his woollen mill at Deanshaugh
in 1797. Appears on Wood's Town Map of 1822 as belonging
to Mrs Longmore, and in present layout on Ray's map
of Elgin of 1838.
