Description

Late 18th century. Pair of 2-storey 2-bay terraced cottages. Rendered walling; raised cills; possibly of brick construction. Pend door to centre flanked by house doors, all with fanlights.

No 53 with enlarged bipartite waindow to ground, single light windows to 1st with depressed arch heads. Sash and case windows with upper sash 3-pane and single plate glass lower sash.

No 55 with all single light sash and case windows with 12-pane glazing. End stacks with thackstanes, sandstone ridge; good graded slate roofs.

Statement of Interest

Basket arch windows such as those at No 53 are a common feature of brick buildings.
