Statement of Interest

The Builder describes the unveiling of the Academy War Memorial on the 11 November 1924, attributing the work to Paterson. The obituary on Millar, written by his former partner A McInnes Gardner in 1922 claims a memorial design for the Academy as his own. It seems probable that Millar designed a memorial but it was not the one chosen; if Paterson had merely been executing Millar's design there would surely have been reference to his name or follow-up to The Builder's attribution.
