Description

Circa 1852, range of tenements with similarly detailed
return elevation to 46-48 Otago Street. 3 storeys over
basement, both elevations 9 bays. Polished ashlar,
channelled at ground; stonecleaned.
Main doors: pilaster doorpieces with mutule cornices;
deeply with pilastered reveals. All upper windows
architraved; corniced at 1st floor. Sash windows,
12-pane glazing. At 1st and 4th bays of 1 Glasgow
Street tripartite mullioned windows; remainder all
single light. Moulded band course at 1st floor cills;
eaves course and cornice. Wallhead and axial stacks,
slate roofs. Interior: Cast-iron balusters to
cantilevered stone stairs; cast-iron supporting columns
at each landing.

40-50 Gibson Street.
