Description

James Thomson architect; circa 1885. Astylar block of 2
tenements with Thomsonesque detailing; 3 storeys and
attics; modern shops at ground. Tenements of 8 bays
each. Polished ashlar, No 519 stonecleaned. 1st floor
windows linked by moulded band courses stepped up over
windows and corniced. 2nd floor windows in recessed
architraves flanked by shallow pilasters with indented
capitals. Sash windows; 4 pane glazing. Heavy string
course at 2nd floor cills. Eaves cornice deep plain
parapet. Various dormer shapes. Slate roofs.
