William Birnie Rhind (Edinburgh) sculptor; 1906. War
memorial; seated figure of uniformed soldier on squat
ashlar obelisk. Base of loose rocks, lower part of
obelisk polished ashlar bearing inscription of bronze
lettering to W face, bronze plate of E; upper level
rock-faced.

In commemoration of the men of the Highland Light

Infantry who fell in the South African War; 1899, 1900,

1901 and 1902.
