Description

Circa 1870. 3 storeys, attics and basement house, 4
irregular bays. Thomsonesque detailing. Polished
ashlar, channelled at ground. Projecting pillared porch
over basement area. Doric-style pillars support consoled
frieze and plain cornice surmounted by low incised block
pediment. All windows with simplified pilasters with
decorative incised frieze, linked at 1st floor by band
course of Greek key detail. Ground floor windows with
pilastered reveals and aprons; consoled cornice at 1st
floor. Extreme right bay, bipartite windows in each
floor, similarly detailed. Sash windows, plate glass
glazing. Band course at 1st and 2nd floor cills; main
entablature with disc mouldings and incised lintel
decoration. Modillion cornice, steeply pitched slate
roof with attic lights. Cast-iron railings to basement
and steps.
