Description

Clarke and Bell, architects; 1896. Baroque drinking
fountain erected in memory of Charles Cameron MP; ogee
domed baldacchino with basins at base. In 3 main stages:
polished Peterhead granite basin and base. Doulton ware
to 2 upper stages: 4 piers with engaged columns support
octagonal upper works and ogee dome. Elaborately
moulded aedicules contain bronze medallion portrait of
Cameron, by Tinworth of London. Above these, clock
faces to cardinal points. Ogee domed roof with finial.
