Description

Sydney Mitchell, architect; 1904-6. Scots Renaissance
mid-terrace 4-bay house, 3 storeys. Stonecleaned polished
ashlar.
To outer bays at ground and 1st floors, canted windows,
linked at 1st floor level by continuous projecting solid
ashlar balcony, which acts as porch to recessed off-centre
doorway (modern door). 4-light windows to left, with mullion
and/or transom. 2nd floor with large Jacobean style moulded
pedimented dormer heads breaking wallhead, roll-moulded
architraves. Sash windows, small pane glazing.
Frieze with carved panels and datestone 1904 over 1st floor.
Elaborate shell frieze below eaves cornice. Tall coped stacks
with rounded angles shared with neighbouring houses. Slate
roofs, coursed stugged ashlar rear. Dated rainwater head.
