Description

Early 20th century. Memorial stone marking the site of the Bishop's Palace, which was demolished in 1792. Tapered granite plinth set on a stepped base with carved foliate panels incorporating bishop's coat of arms and bronze dedication plaque.

Statement of Interest

Presented to the Corporation of the City of Glasgow by Francis Henderson, Lord Dean of the Guild of the City 1910-1912, to mark the site of the Bishop's Palace, built in the 13th century and demolished in 1792.
