Description

Dated 1891. Francis Stirrat of 121 West Regen Street, Glasgow.

4-storey, cellar and attic, 3-bay, red sandstone commercial

building with Renaissance details. Public house front at

ground with original architraved doorpiece to left with

broken pediment cradling date stone; oculus above, flanked

by consoles supporting architrave. Cornice above ground

floor forms cill to 1st floor. Each storey corniced that

at ground forms all to 1st. Cill course to 2nd. All windows

architraved. 4-light canted window at centre 1st and 2nd

floor, with carved ornament to centre 2nd floor mullion.

Round-arched 3rd floor window with keystone, carved flowers

above flanking channelled pilasters. Transoms to outer 3rd

floor windows with segmental pediments. Modillion cornice

with parapet above, broken at centre by pedimented bipartite

dormer window, flanked by scrolled and fluted pilasters and

with apex cartouche; round-arched small leaded dormer windows

behind parapet. Former mutual gable to N rendered. Plate glass

sash and case windows; mansard to E front, pitched roof to rear; slates.
