Description

Circa 1862. 3-storey classical, curving corner tenement with
modern shops to ground floor Byres Road, attic with dormers to
rear. 17 unequal bays. E bay on Ashton Road canted. 7th bay
tripartite to above entrance to NO 1 ASHTON ROAD. Polished
ashlar. Sash and case windows in architraves, 6-pane to Byres
Road, 3-pane with horizontal glazing bars to curved section
and Ashton Road. Guttae consoled, corniced, arched entrances
at NOS 1 AND 3 ASHTON ROAD: Ground floor cornice; 1st floor
windows corniced, tripartite above entry at No 1 Ashton Road,
1st floor cornice. Plain eaves entablature, cornice. Corniced
axial stacks.
