Description

Robert Crawford, 1857-59. Terrace of 2-bay classical
houses with 3-bay flatted W pavilion. 2 storeys and
basement with 3-storey and basement to W end pavilion.
Polished ashlar, squared rubble rear elevation. Sash and
case windows in architraves, 4-pane glazing.
Entrances, console corniced at head of steps with die
walls oversailing basement area. Tripartite window to left
of entrance. 1st floor, cill band, console corniced
tripartite window in right bay, similar single light window
above entrance. Cornice and balustraded parapet.
W BAYS: central entrance console corniced, flanked by
tripartite windows. 1st floor cill band, console
bracketted windows. 2nd floor cill band. Eaves cornice.
W RETURN ELEVATION: 5 bays, 2nd return bay from N blind.
Central console corniced entry to upper flats. 1st floor
windows console corniced. 2nd floor cill band. Wallhead
stack. Slate roof axial stacks. Terraced front gardens
with die balustrades. Corniced gatepiers.
