Description

Begun 1867-68. 2 storeys, basement and attic terrace of
3-bay houses. Polished ashlar, channelled at ground
floor. Each house pilastered, doorpiece to entry at head
of steps oversailing basement area, architraved window
above; 3 N houses mirror 3 S houses. 3-light oriels with
dentilled corbel at 1st floor. Sash and case windows,
plate glass.
Balustraded parapet over cornice, bowed over oriels.
Gabled dormers, No 59 with segmental head. Tall,
corniced stacks. Cast-iron railings, piers. Coped
boundary wall.
Rear elevation: snecked rubble with droved ashlar canted
bays.

Statement of Interest

Former St John's Terrace. First occupied Nos 1 and 2 1868,

completed 1870.
