Description

Alexander Kirkland, circa 1855. 3-storey classical tenement, altered at corner and Argyle Street. 5 x 18 bays with recessed tripartite bowed corner bay. 4th bay from W on Argyle Street glazed blind. Ground floor altered in Argyle Street. Polished ashlar, channelled at ground floor. Pilastered entrances each at head of stair, projecting frieze and cornice, fanlights. Ground floor cornice. All windows sash and case in architraves, mainly 12-pane glazing to 1st 8 return bays from N in Corunna Street; 2nd return bay glazed, blind; 1st floor windows corniced, dropped architraves, console bracketted at corner. Eaves cornice partially removed; parapet to 1st 8 return bays, panelled below projecting wallhead stacks; 2 further wallhead stacks; ridge stacks; slate roof. Cast-iron railings.
