Description

Alexander Wall, 1864-65. Gothic church building with gable
front to street. Ashlar (now with modern surface treatment).
Wide buttressed centre bay, with buttresses rising to
pinnacles; 3 pointed headed doors (centre wider) with nook
shafts and moulded archivolts. Moulded string course below
tall 6-light, hoodmoulded, pointed arched window, with
vericulated tracery. Angel in circular frame in gable-head.
Recessed gabled outer bays for gallery stairs, each with
2-light margined and cusped-headed windows. All gables
finialled. Plain side elevations. Cast-iron, twisted raisings
linked by cusping under top rail and decorative cast-iron
gatepiers.

Statement of Interest

No longer in ecclesiastical use. Built as UP Church at cost of $4,500.
