Description

Circa 1858. Classical, astylar tenement on gushet. 4 storeys,
single bay forming gushet frontage. 25 bays to Kent Road
arranged 6-6-6-7. Ashlar, channelled at ground floor, altered
for modern public house in 5 western bays and angle bay.
Paired pilastered doorpieces to 3 eastern blocks, 1 single
pilastered doorpiece to W. All windows sash and case in
architraves, outer bays of each of the 4 blocks tripartite
with stone mullions; cornices to 1st and 2nd floors, 6-pane
glazing. Eaves course, urn at eastern angle, pediment to
angle bay. Angle bay bowed from ground to 2nd floor;
tripartite windows at all 4 floors, altered at ground. 1
Argyle Street and Claremont Street return elevations repeat
Kent Road arrangement.
