Description

Alexander Petrie 1895-99. Large 6-storey office block,
7 x 5 unequal bays. Polished red sandstone. Modern ground
floor shops. Arched and keystoned entrance to St Enoch's
Square, channelled 1st floor, with string course at
impost level of arched windows. Windows arranged
2-3-2-3-2-3-2 to the Square, 3-2-3-2-3 to Howard Street.
2nd-4th floors with canted windows in alternate narrow
bays; architraved windows, bracketted balconies to
central windows of wide bays; arched windows in 3rd.
Pilasters rise form 4th floor level to main cornice.
Balustraded parapet with bold, corniced dies.
