Description

John Hamilton, 1902-04. 4-storey red ashlar tenement with art nouveau details; stone-cleaned, glazing mostly modern (original windows 2-pane lower sashes, 8-paned vertically-proportioned upper sashes), modern tile roof. Shallow oriels corbelled above ground and parapetted above wall-head, paired wall-head stacks with shafts also rising from above ground, deep-eaved roof swept out between. Shop at left. S return elevation similarly detailed.

Statement of Interest

Surviving element of L-plan tenement, the longer arm of which, on McEwan Street, is now demolished.
