Description

Circa 1870. 3 storey and basement, 5 bays to Garrioch Street, all shallow advanced, from Nos 263-271 canted angle, 13 bays to Clouston Street. Ashlar, channelled at ground, rubble rear elevation. Wide tripartite architraved and bracketted doorpiece with panelled storm doors. All windows architraved with cill courses, ground floor with aprons. 1st floor with bracketted cornices. Canted angle window. Modillion cornice.

CLOUSTON STREET: long elevation, 1st bay from W blind windows in each floor, 2 irregularly spaced doors. Detailed as Garrioch Street. Modern tiled roof. Good cast-iron railings, gatepiers in Clouston Street.

Statement of Interest

Similarly but not identically detailed to Nos 263-271 Garrioch Street. Good townscape value at SE end of Kirklee Bridge.
