Description

1895 Classical church designed by William Ferguson; halls to rear by Miller and Black, 1930 (dated).

Unusual use of masonry, contrasting wall areas of red and grey stonework (detailing all red ashlar); slate roofs. Occupies a sloping corner site, long flank wall to Cadzow Drive with basement storey, shallow-advanced and parapetted end bays (HALLS, range to right has 3-bay front, reproducing features of original design and continuing parapet) central porch at basement level; main front to Greenlees Road a simplified variant of the "temple-front" favoured in the west; flat-parapetted ends, centre advanced, raised and pedimented, 3 gallery-level windows divided by pilasters; main entrance door at ground, beneath.
