Description

James Salmon and Son, 1883. Board school with simplified renaissance details, identical opposing elevations, mullioned and transomed windows. 2-storeys. Symmetrical (N & S) fronts each with pedimented outer gables. Large 1st floor windows break tympana; 3-bay centre open nd arcaded at ground, steps to entrance with flanking iron lamps. Ashlar, slated roofs. Flanks also with mullioned and transomed windows, raised centre with roof swept over.

Playground walls with plain iron railings, tall gatepiers.
