Description

John A Campbell (of Burnet, Son and Campbell) 1885-9. Church. Early English Gothic with complex flank elevation (massive porch and gables of transept and hall of 1893 front street). N elevation derives (cf Campbell and Burnet's Barony Church) from Dunblane Cathedral - 3 equal sized lights, massive buttresses, vesica in gablehead. Chancel at S and belfry. Stone-cleaned light coloured Giffnock stone; slated roofs. Lofty interior with open timbered roof; aisle arcades alternate circular/octagonal columns; leaded glass windows, one by John C Hall, 1909, one by Douglas Hamilton, 1950. Organ, 1922.
