Description

Mid to later 19th century, reworking and extension of slightly earlier villa. 2-storey 4-bay L-plan flatted villa with gothic details. Rendered ashlar to front, harl to rear and side. Base course; band eaves course; chamfered reveals to windows; coped skews, corbelled skewputts with roll-detail; quoin strip to NE corner.

NW (FRONT) ELEVATION: doorway to left of centre, 4-centre-arched porch with octagonal columns and crenellated parapet, panelled door; window above. Advanced gabled bay to right of centre with kneelers and ashlar finial, 2-storey canted window with blank armorial shield above. Narrower gabled bay with apex stack to outer right with slightly advanced window at ground floor, at 1st floor hoodmoulded window with moulded apron. Regular fenestration to bay to outer left.

NE ELEVATION: gabled, windows to centre; lower 2-storey wing to outer left with secondary doorway with bracketted cornice.

SE (REAR) ELEVATION: lower 2-storey rear wing. Timber sash and case windows, 4-pane at 1st floor, modern replacement windows at ground floor. Grey slate roof to original, purple to outer right bay, with metal flashings; apex stack (see above).

INTERIOR: not seen 1993.

Low rubble wall to front with semi-circular coping, taller boundary wall.
