Description

Later 19th century. 2-storey 3-bay cottage-style villa with later

additions to rear, now hotel. Pink sandstone, ashlar front (some plastic repair), squared and snecked stugged rubble to rear and side. Base course; moulded cill course at 1st floor; overhanging eaves with decoratively carved exposed rafters; chamfered reveals to bays; ground floor windows corniced; 1st floor windows breaking eaves.

N (FRONT) ELEVATION: pilastered doorway at centre with console corbels supporting balcony with pierced quatrefoil balustrade, 2-leaf panelled door and plate glass fanlight; window above. 2-storey canted window to right bay with finialled pplygonal roof. Bipartite windows to left bay in shallow projection and finialled piended roof.

E ELEVATION: gabled with plain bargeboards, narrow windows to centre.

S (REAR) ELEVATION: single storey lean-to addition; 1st floor windows to outer bays breaking eaves in piended dormers.

Timber sash and case windows with plate glass glazing. Slate roof; gablehead stack to E. Moulded eaves gutters.

INTERIOR: not seen 1993.

Low wall to front, rendered, with later railings.
